Very interesting story in relation to how young children experience self-taught skills, and use digital tools to explore beyond their own setting.
ReplyDeleteTeagan's example of wanting to learn more is one of the wonderful side effects of having access to so much information. Her teachers could assign all of her classmates "Enrichment" assignemnts. Perhaps they could all use Google Earth to demonstrate their research. She seems like a very interesting young lady!
ReplyDeleteMy case study also included a young girl. I am personally amazed at how they use technology for school. I personally did not think that young students were completely ready for all of the technology, but now I am beginning to feel a little differently about it. I teach second grade and am actually getting exciting at the possibilities.
ReplyDeleteI just can't get over how technology savoy young children are. One of the great benefits of being a teacher is hearing "I want to learn more!"
ReplyDeleteI think the Internet is a great resource for young people to be familiar with. The Internet is great for teachers to use and teach students how to research. This is the most valuable resource today for young people to konow how to manoever!
